DWA Bug Reporter — Chrome Extension

Overview

DWA Bug Reporter is an internal tool built for DWA team members. It allows team members to capture screenshots and submit bug reports directly to the team's self-hosted DWA Builder instance.

This extension does not collect, transmit, or share any data with third parties. All data is sent exclusively to your team's self-hosted DWA Builder instance.

Data Collection & Usage

Screenshots: The extension captures a screenshot of the visible browser tab only when the user explicitly triggers it via the right-click context menu ("Report Bug to DWA Builder"). Screenshots are never captured automatically or in the background.
Bug descriptions: The user manually enters a text description of the bug before submitting. This text is sent alongside the screenshot to the configured DWA Builder instance.
Page URL: The URL of the page where the bug report was initiated is included in the report for context.

Data Transmission

Screenshots and bug descriptions are sent directly to your team's self-hosted DWA Builder instance via HTTPS. The destination URL is configured by the user in the extension's settings. No data is sent to any third-party server, analytics service, or external endpoint.

Data Storage

The extension stores only two settings in Chrome's sync storage:

Server URL — the base URL of your DWA Builder instance
API Key — an optional authentication token for the API

A pending bug report (screenshot and metadata) is temporarily stored in Chrome's local storage until the user submits or cancels it. No data persists after submission.

Analytics & Tracking

This extension does not include any analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or data collection mechanisms of any kind. There are no third-party SDKs, libraries, or services embedded in the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

contextMenus — to add the "Report Bug" option to the right-click menu
activeTab — to capture a screenshot of the current tab when triggered by the user
storage — to save extension settings and temporarily hold pending reports
